Tennessee runs away with Cullan Brown Collegiate; Kentucky fades to fourth at home
LEXINGTON, Ky., October 6, 2026: Tennessee shot a final-round 14-under at Lexington Country Club on Tuesday to win the Cullan Brown Collegiate by 22 shots, while host Kentucky stumbled to an 8-over final round and finished fourth.
The Volunteers finished 54 holes at 22-under, well clear of Mississippi State (even par), NC State (+2) and Kentucky (+3). The Wildcats had been tied for second after Monday's 36 holes but faded badly on the final day.
"Team wise, it was a disappointing finish to the week," Kentucky head coach Gator Todd said. "I thought our guys really hung in there... but it's hard to outrun where we are as a team when two of our top players struggle like they did today."
Kentucky's best finisher was individual entrant Gavin Clutts, tied 12th at 1-under (70-70-72). Clutts led the entire 88-player field with 43 pars. Jacob Lang tied 18th at even par (70-72-71), eagling the par-5 18th in the final round. Cameron Phillips also tied 18th at even (68-72-73), his best finish of the season, leading the team with 11 birdies. Gabriel Hull, alone in sixth after two rounds, shot 79 on the final day and fell to T42. Defending champion Cole Stockard tied 45th at +6. Freshman Bradford Lacefield tied 42nd at +5 (70-75-73) in his college debut.
Tennessee's Christian Pardue shared medalist honors at 9-under with Vanderbilt individual entrant Carlos Astiazaran.
The Wildcats are back in action Oct. 18–20 at the Williams Cup, Eagle Point Golf Club in Wilmington, N.C.
